First time I went with a well known company (I think it might have been Sobek), it was great, had an absolute ball, great shower facilities and meal afterwards. Last time I booked through Bali Aussie (don't know which company it was) and payed $38, rafting was just OK but the shower facilities and meal at the end were atrocious. So I think it's worth paying a bit more and go with a company with a good reputation. We took my 11yo daughter, so you would have no problems with your son, go and have a great time.
