I did the Denpasar to Flores flight back in the early 90's. I bought a return ticket Denpasar-Ende-Denpasar for around AUD$150 from memory. You fly into Mataram (Lombok) then Bima (Sumbawa) then Ende. Maumere is only a little further east so the price should be similar. I've noticed in recent years that the prices haven't changed very much other than adjustment for the exchange rate. I flew Merpati but in those days you could also fly Sempati. I think Sempati have closed down. The one way fare is not much less than the return fare I noticed though. My return flight was a real adventure. The larger plane had mechanical problems so they ferried us back in 9 seaters, short hops from airfield to airfield all the way to Mataram before we finally got a jet back to Ngurah Rai in Bali. Really neat trip.
Make sure you go to Keli Mutu to check out the coloured lakes, breathtaking!!
