Hi! Last October we went on our first WWR trip. Booking through one of the roadside tour-selling stalls, we secured a good deal through Bali International Rafting (there are 3 operators doing WWR now). Apparently Bali International Rafting has the least amount of steps to climb down into the water (6 or 7 steps), the river they use is cleaner than the river the other operators use (the water is clear and clean), they have the longest stretch of river (12kms from memory). At the end is a rather large drop-off which is great fun! (our group - at least 6 boats, had kids as young as 10-ish doing it. I would take my 3 kids for sure.)
At the end of the tour, there is a God-Almighty set of stairs you have to climb (they all have this apparently), which terminates at a gorgeous little restuarant with the best views i have seen. They put on a great buffet lunch while watching (and buying of course!) the video that they put together during the trip. If you go, do yourself a favour and buy the video. It brings back such great memories. We still laugh at it.
WWR has now become a regular for us, as we enjoyed it so much, and the scenery you see on the river surpasses ANYTHING I have seen in Bali. It is truly beautiful country, and you have lots of chances to say hello to rice farmers as you drift past them.
Have I sold you yet? lol
