I can only personally recommend the Besakih Hotel and we keep going back. It has a great atmosphere, clean rooms and very friendly staff. It is right on the beach and walking distance to the Sanur Beach Market and has some fantastic restaurants nearby both on the beach and the street, all within walking distance. I don't have children so I can't give you advice as far as that goes but they do have baby sitting and a kids pool.
There is a few hotels along this strip which are in a really good position and I think that area is the best location in Sanur. Depending on the kids ages I "THINK", don't quote me, the Gazebo Beach Hotel has a playground as does The Sanur Paradise Hotel but the Paradise is not on the beach from what I've gathered.
