Our westpac card was scammed recently in Australia, up the road probably. I immediately thought it was from a recent O/S trip, no was not.
They cancelled and reissued a new card after a telephone conversation.
They would not tell me where or how the scam had been discovered except that it originated in Australia and the scam was europe. They said they could not give me that information as it was not the business at fault but an unscrupulous staff member. They told me this is the policy.
It made me realise that sometimes your card could have been scammed at least a year before the card is used or copied.
