Back 3 days.
Left for Denpasar 10.00am from Brisbane with AP.No complaints, on time, great service and cold Bintang.Arrived in Bali after lunch and it was cold and wet. Iv'e never seen so much rain.Nevermind hey we were there! Checked in at Melasti Beach.Room was great.By the new pool as requested (e-mailed beforehand) so we could sit on verandah and watch the kids swimming.Had a ball.
Can't remember what we did day to day so tell you about the highlights.
Bali Budaya Mountain Bike Rides-a MUST.Our guide was Darma (Arya ,who has been recommended on BTF has gone to Dubai for work) but Darma was fantastic. He knows everything, is very polite and loved our girls. (ages 7 and 10). Out of 6 trips to bali, this was the most outstanding time i've ever had. When you ride through the villages everyone yells "hello" and high five you as you ride by. We will definately do this tour again.
Went to Candi Dasa for day trip.Loved it.Visited Goa Lawah (bat temple)Very interesting but watch the little girls selling jewellery. They get very annoyed and quite nasty when you don't buy from them.On to Padang Bai.Very relaxed little village by the sea.On to Candi Dasa for lunch at Lotus Restaraunt right on the water. I wish i had known about this place before.Would have stayed there at least 3 days.Visited our driver Gusti's village and met his mother who made us Bali coffee and roasted peanuts.Great experience for us and an eye opener for the kids.
Did the usual shopping in Ubud for a day.Must stay up there one day.(no kids) Had lunch at Cafe Indus. One word-Superb.
Waterbom Park for 10 year olds birthday.Met with BTF friends Ang and Greg from Adelaide. This is a cool spot.Never saw the kids (unless they were hungry)We hired a cabana by the pool for 50 000rp. Snoozed after a big night before at Bali Rock then worked up the courage to go on the Splashdown.Great day.
I think that is about it I don't wanna bore anyone.
Had a great time. Might try another hotel next time or even a villa.
MBR is great but just starting to look a bit "tired". The breakfast is horrible, so frequented Warung Yogya down the road.
We ate alot at Indo-National where we met many forumites.Wayan and Friends is great food and atmosphere.
Had an afternoon at S&S (hello RooTed!) laughed and laughed, watched the sunset then stumbled home. What a great spot that is.
Like many others planning our next trip already.
