After your walk to the headland, call in at Warung Pini, the only warung in the little fishing village. Owned by Wayan, one of the nicest ladies you would ever meet. Walk through Resor Prima, just two minutes from Warung Pini, and you'll get a surprise, a good clean white sand beach, unusual for Candi Dasa. Close in live coral reef with fish if you'd like some low key snorkeling.

For a personal guide to Tenganan, get Komang, a man of the village, who works as a waiter at Catra New Beach Restaurant.

Komang's mother is a weaver of the traditional double ikat material. You will be taken to the family home [on the back of motorbikes if you wish] and made welcome. Naturally you will be encouraged to buy some double ikat material, not cheap, but very special.

For the trip to Amed, I recommend driver Wayan Manek [Nick] ph 081 8353501.

If you feel like another quick trip, Padang Bai is not far away. It's the ferry port for Lombok, but apart from the ferry terminal it's like a fishing village from times past. If you like snorkeling, get there fairly early before the waves get up and have a look at Blue Lagoon, a few minutes walk over the hill.

Say "Hi" to them all, and the people at Resor Prima, from Rex and tell them I look forward to seeing them all again.
