Two immediately come to mind.
One morning, really early, climb up the headland just to the east of the town. Go down the main road to the left hand turn but keep straight ahead thro' the coconut plantation, past the little fishing village on the beach and up the dirt and rock path along the edge of the cliff. The sight os the fishing boats returning from a night on the Lombok Strait is spectacular as is the panorama that takes in about 270 degrees. Wear good shoes.
In the afternoon go to Tenganan and see the village life there, look at the smoke cured basket weaving, the double ikat cloth weaving and the lontar (palm leaf 'books') manufacture. Stop at the German bakery just out of town on the way and pick up lunch or afternoon snacks.
The second day hire a driver and go to Amed. Go via Amlapura, (see the market and shops there) Tirtagganga (watch out for the slippery stepping stones across the ponds) and the rice terraces at Abang (make sure you have plenty of film for your camera). Cruise straight on from Amed and come home on the super spectacular coast road via the water palace at Ujung. Stop to see the salt making there also.
Have a great trip.
