Even with an extra 20 kg each given by the ailine we had a weight bill of $300 but it seems all worth while when you see the smiles.
I've heard of people taking packets of frozen meat (chicken and pork) to friends in Bali. It might be worth a try for your friends up north.
We now take some hand tools to our boatbuilder friend in Jimbaran (he has no power supply) and they are very much appreciated. I'm sure the farmers will appreciate things like hammers and spanners too.
