Stayed at Puspasari and Chandra Inn losmans on Jl Padma in the late 70's and early 80's. Happy's (had boardshorts made there) and Glory's restaurants were our main eating places and the Rum Jungle was in the sticks. No Mandira, Padma or any other hotel within cooee of the water - just walk on sand and through coconut trees to have a surf. There was nothing along Jl Legian between Kuta and Legian.
