well buy a couple of $2 noodles from the red dot stores or the like and take them in the pool with you so you can float around if you can't swim well. It is so hot in bali i can't imagine not being in the pool. Just leave the noodle behind when you come home.
So being by the pool with a book is heaven.
Having a daily massage is something my husband and i both enjoy, very relaxing. You can go into a cheap day spa if you are not into sand on the beach.Margis in poppies lane 2 is good and cheap.
Sitting on the beach at sharkies in jimbaren bay at sunset watching the waves and the planes and the candles all lit along the beach , being serenaded whilst our food is cooking and a bintang in hand.......you would be hardpressed to be grumpy about that.
A compulsary tour to ubud gets you out of the Kuta rutt and you experience more of the real Bali. Even stay a night up there.....we are staying at Tegal sari next trip.
If that fails....leave him in his room and go shopping :)
