**Forgot to add on our first day we had arranged DVD's with Helgie who delivered these to our hotel which we were very grateful for as between the 2 of us we had ordered over 300.
DAY 2: Armed with information taken from forum we are off to the Tailors , the long way of course. The weather was very very hot have not sweated so much, I was there in January 2004 and felt that it was even hotter this time in March (will make note not to go back in these months, getting too old for this heat) .
Taxi to Poppies 2 beach end and this is where we started, of course it doesn't normally take this long to walk but after a couple of hours we reached JANAKO Tailors and were grateful for a seat.
Of course on the way to the Tailors we had made a few purchases:
* 2 Silver neck rings with shell pendants 200,000
* 2 Paul Frank watches 200,000 - was ripped off with one of these as when got back to hotel noticed it didn't work, I took it back a few days later but Johnny said he didn't sell this to me and wanted more money to exchange, after a few words I ended up throwing the watch on the counter and storming off (not happy Jan) letting Johnny know that I would tell all my friends not to buy anything from his stall. Just for interest I think all the watch sellers at the beach end of poppies 2 are named Johnny.
* 2 Gucci watches 100,00 - this made up for the Paul Frank ones.
* From Shock Shop - fluffy thongs 45,000 and Emily the strange bag 75,000
At the tailors we both wanted suits made:
Zelda:
1 x 2 piece mens suit with measurements only and a photos of the jacket design, chose wool blend material
1 ladies suit jacket, skirt, pants in microfibre
2 ladies camisoles - linen material
1 skirt that I had taken a photo of from a book
All for the total sum of 1,200,000 = $166 aus
Brenda:
1 ladies suit - jacket and pants
1 ladies suit - longer jacket and skirt
3 camisoles - linen and microfibre
1 pant suit for 11 year old daughter in white chinese material
All for the total sum of 1,317,000 = $183 aus

After all of this we were ready for lunch so we opted for just across the road from JANAKO Tailor is KORI restaurant...looks expensive I said but we needed a drink who cares what the price in this heat, well what an oasis this turned out to be we were the only ones and had exceptional service...the food was absolutely beautiful..I had this chicken salad thing with passionfruit/chilli sauce..........my mouth is watering thinking about it. For entrees/meal/5 drinks 168,630 = $23. aus we will go back there again thats for sure.

We decided to walk back via Jl Bensari and call in for a massage at Salon Made as recommended on Forum.
It wasn't air conditioned just a little fan which you have to ask to turn on.
The girls were lovely except they kept chattering amongst themselves so the atmosphere wasn't very relaxing, I went for the massage and Brenda had a facial whe couldn't brave the massage.
1 hr massage 35,000 = $5 and 1 hr facial 20,000 = $3
Brenda reckons it was one of the better facials she has had well for $3 why not. Although she didn't see what products they used she said her face felt lovely.

On the way back to ALAM KUL KUL we negotiated to hire a DVD player for 7 days 200,000 which equates to $27 for the week at around $4 a day this we thought was ok we could have negotiated more but we were hot, tired and he would deliver to the hotel and pick up so this suited us. The DVD player was already there before we arrived back to the hotel, prompt service.

As we had over 300 DVD's between us we thought we would have a night in and order room service which was rather nice for the grand total of 205,000 = $28 we had entrees, mains dessert,

I decided we would eat cheaper from now and to make the most of this extravagance!!!
Another exhausting day for us old chooks in this heat.
Stay tuned for day 3..............
