any snorklers off that beach, as a matter of fact you rarely see anyone in the ocean there...the pool is great, beach front..the tide changes a lot in that area, it also has a shallow reef....perhaps at high tide it might be ok....
I know that many people take a boat ride out to Nusa Lembogan, probably from Benoa, not sure though, it could be out of Sanur, I have read many positive comments, have no clue myself....the "Best" snorkeling I have done in Bali is at menjangen Island (North/West)it was awesome
