first time I went to Bali(1984) with my two boys 12 and 9 I warned them about having anything with ice or salads. Arrived at hotel after waiting in a tin arrival lounge for about two hours, was handed a welcome drink containing lots of ice ...and said what the heck we need a cold drink so down it went...no problems!Salads went down well too.
Have been 17 times and have been a little unwell overnight once. Perhaps the Bintang has a protective element in it. Enjoy your time. Just use common sense.
