Qantas Again?

Just received an email advising of 6 nights at the Kuta Lagoon for $599 with our friends at Qantas/ Australian Airlines. Sounded good, but read further and it says 'Return economy air trail (sic) with Qantas / Australian Airlines, Perth to Denpasar via Sydney;

PERTH TO DENPASAR VIA SYDNEY?????

Is this a typo or do they really think we would travel to Sydney first, then to Bali when we can get to Bali direct (4 flights today alone) in just 3 1/2 hours?
