You'll have a great time, Marco. As several other people have posted, solo travellers can often meet far more people than those travelling with others. You just have to be friendly - and keep your wits about you. In that respect, you do need to be a bit more vigilant I guess, as you don't have a "buddy" who might see something amiss that you don't. In the same way that good, friendly people will approach & include someone on their own, so can others who see them as a possible "mark". In quite a few years of solo travel, I've only had one instance where my intuition told me something was suss and it served me well.
Looks as if the Aussies have adopted you already! And you haven't even stepped snow to sand yet!
