I always feel far safer in Bali than anywhere else. Your biggest risk is having a few too many bintangs and leaving it behind somewhere (experience speaking here), and if you leave it in a restaurant you will more than likely get it back. If it was me, and it was particularly valuable, just make sure you have adequate travel insurance. One other point, it can be a pain lugging around a lot of gear in the heat. Maybe take both cameras for different situations?
