Hi Karen - you can use your phone as per normal, however be aware that costs of calls with roaming are very very expensive. You actually pay for the call to go back to Australia and then back to Bali, and even the person receiving the call (if they have roaming) will pay for costs Australia to Bali. This also includes anyone phoning you from Australia - any call you answer you pay for the international link. Cheaper options are to only use sms (which are still only 22c or whatever you normally pay), you will also need to cancel all diverts on your phone, even a call going to your voicemail you pay international rates. The other option is to buy pre-paid sim cards in Bali which are very cheap for call charges. Do a quick search on this forum for additional info, there is plenty on here. Good Luck, Jan.
