Hi Tracy, long time no BTF for me. I have been going cold turkey but like any addiction you can only be good for so long. I have occasionally taken a peek and read somewhere that you were buying an apartment over there, did you??? It has almost been a year since we did the infamous family trip. We were booked to go to Phuket in april but instead we are going to try something different, Koh Samui and Bangkok (no kids, YIPPEE!!!). So after booking this trip my brother has just announced he is getting married in Bali in September, so it looks like we are off to Bali as well and we will be staying at the Bali Padma this time not the Jayakarta. We found the Jayakarta to be OK, but yes you are right it is big and very impersonal. The residences we found to be great after having a choice of rooms. Other family members stayed in the hotel rooms and were not happy with them, a bit on the tired side but still OK. But as we all say you don't spend your holiday in your room so with that said the hotel grounds although big are lovely and the pools, well at least you have a choice. We chose the Jayakarta over the Kumala Pantai only because there were 3 pools for the kids to swim in. Anyway must go and catch up on what has been happening on the BTF since I left, Cheers Sharon
