hope i am not boring you.

sat- organized driver for 300.000rps from the bugus pub to take 6 of us to the volcanos. first stop we went to a traditional dance where they put on a stage show, then went to ubud for wood carving and silver. our driver would stop where ever we wanted to go so we wanted to go to the bird park as i had read alot about this place, glad we did the birds were beautiful, cant remeber how much it cost to get in , i think around 12 dollors each . we were surposed to be in there for about 45 mins but ended up staying in there for about 2 hours, had photos holding the birds as well, but be warned if you do this make sure you have your sholders covered up as there claws are very sparp. next stop the rice terrances, what a veiw , it was fantastic up there. ive been to bali 3 times before but had never been there. within five mins the other 4 were back in the van becauce they were getting hassled by the hawkers but my husband and i had just walked straight through them and were having a great time , having a drink with this little old man who let us take photos of him. i gave him a couple of 2 dollor coins , well you would have thought we gave him a brand new car, his eyes lit up like mad. the trick is to ignore the hawkers ,dont even look at them and they will leave you alone so you can enjoy the veiw of the rice terrances. when we finihed our drink we thought we had better go back to the van and save the others, they had about 6 people trying to get in the van and sell them something . stella my friend said to one of the kids 'we have no money' he said you can borrow from your friends, well we cracked up laughing , there not stupid . we finally got them away and off we went to the volcanos, lucky we went when we did as we just got through the restuarant to see the volcano and within 2 or 3 mins it bucketed down. everybody who was eating outside ran inside under cover. ive never seen rain come down that fast, it was great and it cooled it down a bit which was a relief. had a lovely lunch and a few drinks while our driver had a sleep. while we were sitting there we had the locals trying to sell us there wares and a few of my friends wanted wooden elephants, between them they got 5 off them. the asking price started at 400.000 but we got them down to 100.000 which was about 14 dollors aust but our driver told us we could have got them for 70.000. they were happy anyway because you would pay $100 dollors in melbourne for sure just for the weight of them. woke up driver and he brought the car to the door so we wouldnt get wet and sang songs all the way back to the hotel, we had the driver in fits. after about 1 hour went to martharis for more shopping and then had dinner at rajas just down the road , not bad but for what we paid i would have rather gone to poppies
