Last October Peter and Marie Ryan ran a very successful fundraiser in their home in Perth for the Palasari Orphanage in Bali. I won a two-night stay in a suite, at a lovely small hotel in Pacung, just out of Bedugul. Two very switched on Australians David and Moira own Pacung Indah, this couple have an eye for detail, everything has to be spot on and nothing is left to chance.
The atmosphere in the hotel is one of a big happy professional family, every member doing their utmost to make sure that every person who walks through their door is happy with every aspect of their stay. Whether it's for a delicious meal or a few nights stay in their excellent accommodation.
My accommodation was delightful, I had a large private courtyard, a beautifully laid-out bedroom with a king sized bed, large bathroom, separate lounge with big tinted glass windows. So I could see the wonderful views, even the toilet had a view over the valley.
This is a small boutique hotel, a perfect place to unwind and to take in the scenic countryside. To be honest, it's not the place for children, far better for a couple wanting a romantic few days to themselves. Included in the rate is a full breakfast, 'FULL' would be the word, I have never seen or eaten a breakfast that was so large. I just had to eat it all because it looked and tasted so very good. Believe me there was no need to eat until dinner time after that feast.
David and Moira are wonderful hosts, they took me sight seeing and also invited me to their suite for a few drinks, while watching the sunset. If you are heading up for a drive around that way, drop in and make yourself known. There are two hotels of a similar name, one is the Pacung and the other is David and Moira's on the other side of the road Pacung Indah. The hotel sign has a kangaroo on it, so it's easy to see..
Thanks David and Moira for sharing your time and your hotel with me, I'll be back. That's a promise and not a threat:-)
