I think we all agree that smuggling drugs to Bali is a dopey idea, since the drugs are worth more in Australia anyway.
But what kind of lunatics concoct such a complicated method of getting drugs from Queensland to NSW?
Option 1: Hide the drugs in a car and get a mule to drive it to the destination. It arrives around 14 hours later, with minimal chance of being detected, unless the driver does something stupid to get the interest of police.
Option 2: Sneak the drugs into an airport that has hundreds of security cameras, police, security staff and sniffer dogs. Once there, place the drugs in a stranger's bag. Cross your fingers and hope that you co-conspirators in Sydney have the opportunity to recognise and intercept the bag, and remove the drugs without being seen. Then all they have to do is sneak the drugs past another multitude of cameras, police, security staff and sniffer dogs, before delivering it to its destination.
Am I missing something here, or is Option 1 the more logical way to go?
No wonder these guys are in jail. If they exist.
