Yes this was on top of our duty free. Our bags had a white chalk tick on them and so we knew that they had likely found our alcohol. They were very easy going, told us we had too much and would have to pay some extra. Hubby (they usually take the men) was asked to go to a little room to pay the "tax". Champers should be fine to take as they can't readily sell on black market they're unlikely to confiscate. Our friends had theirs in hand luggage and although they got caught they pleaded ignorant and got away scott free. Don't believe the forumites who tell you if you get a porter you won't have to pay duty. We got porters and still had to pay the price.
