The hotel you refer to opposite Indo national behind the shops is called Suri Wathi - Phone number is [0361] 753162
This hotel was undergoing some restoration in some rooms updating bathrooms etc around 12 months ago. It is however a budget property.
I have not stayed there myself.
I believe Mic has pics on her website.
The Legian Village hotel - aka Jonis is also budget.
Generally speaking I think it is good value for money having stayed there a number of times. There are 2 sections to it, one by the pool and reception area and also Jonis II which is down Garlic lane [Jalan Sahadewa] near the internet place which is next door to Hulu Cafe.
The rooms vary somewhat and I prefer the site on Padma street, but have other friends who prefer the lodgings down the lane on Jalan Sahadewa.
The staff are very nice and while it is budget and some rooms a bit dated they are cleaned each day and the air con works effectively.
You can hire a fridge for your room for 10000 rupiah a day. I beleive in Deluxe rooms they come with either a fridge or tv [possibly both].
The bar has or did have last year happy hours which start from 11.00am in the morning and continue thru to 6.00 or 8.00pm but not sure if that is still running.
One hint I would give is to steer clear of the rooms which have the open air bathroom. Opressively hot, cant leave door open because if you do bugs fly in.
contact details for Legian Village are : Phone [0361] 751182 or 758145. Fax [0361] 752 455. Email : jonileg@hotmail.com
Hope this is of some help to you. cheers
