The beach in front of your hotel is nice to swim, the only problem is it is very busy, a lot of jet-skiing, boats, will go pass by, so better swim in you hotel pool. Taxi to kuta around 50.000 rupiah, to ubud about 150.000 rupiah. Better take a driver that will do your tours, you may try to ask beni at benihaan@yahoo.com He is very good driver and honest, and will take you to the beautiful places in bali.
