I travelled in India with a doctor & had severe delhi belly. The doctor was adamant that I should NOT take the immodium I had with me cause it traps the bacteria inside allowing it to multiply & make you more ill. Much better to let everything pass on through as quick as possible. We really were travelling at the time & this meant lots of toilet stops behind bushes & in towns asking very kind shopkeepers if I could avail of their limited facilities but havng said that it makes sense not to bind yourself up with the bug inside & its a rule I have tried to stick to ever since.

Acidophilus should be kept refidgerated so not much point buying it in Bali unless you have a fridge in your room to keep it in.

You can however buy Yakult drink very cheaply in Bali but I dont have faith about how much acidophilus is actually in it.
