It depends what you are looking for. If you are looking for Books on Bali that you cant find at home you may be better off getting them in Bali.
If however you are just looking for a novel to read beside the pool you might find them expensive.
I have shipped books to my homestay in Lombok to read & sell on to guests. Last year I had a guest (freinds I might add) who exclaimed & complained at Rp40,000 for a second hand book. (I paid about Rp100,000 new plus shipping & it has been read only once by me!)She was horrified when she saw the price on the bill & returned it saying she could buy it for 30p (Rp2,000) in London. What she was not allowing for was the difficulty of getting these books & the shipping prices. Remeber it is not like buying a second hand book at home. There are more available in Bali than in Lombok but even so they are a luxury item. Because of the lack of resonable material available I will red almost anything! Saying that, if you have any books left over after your stay....... ;-) ;-)
