Jimbaran Bay - food and restaurants

I posted my JBR yesterday, and I guess that I kinda slammed the food at the seafood restaurants at Jimbaran Bay. But having said that, I was surprised that so many people commented that they wouldn't go back to visit Jimbaran Bay a second time if they had to do it again. Each to his/her own I guess, but for my hubby and I it was a great, relaxing spot and I am so glad we didn't choose one of the really touristy places, 'cos we couldn't handle the crowds in some of the other resort areas.
Now, living in Canada, and previous to that in England, I have vacationed in some gorgeous places and seen many beautiful sunsets, whether it be in England, Canada, Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii , Florida, Spain and I could go on and on. The thing that intrigued me about Jimbaran ( and we stayed there for two weeks, except for overnight in Nusa Lembongan) was that no two sunsets were the same, but each was exquisite in it's own way. We tried to catch these sunsets from our hotel open lounge on as many evenings as we could, before heading out for dinner someplace.I also loved that the area was so peaceful. Very few hawkers, and the ones that we did come across were not aggressive. Also, our small, cute three star hotel had absolutely no problems with A/C, plumbing, water pressure or anything, as I have read from so many people who stayed at some of the bigger hotels in the more popular resorts.
I would definitely go back to Jimbaran if we have the opportunity to travel there again (given the distance involved), but next time, I would spend a week in Jimbaran, a week possibly on the east coast(maybe Amed) and a week in the north Lovina way. It's a pity that lots of people going to Jimbaran usually do so in the evening for the fish dinners, and don't get to see it in the day-time for the sleepy little place that it is.But isn't that part of Bali's magic? The diversity of the place is awesome. You can stay at a really bustling resort or a quiet resort and everything in between. There is someplace to suit everyone. Imagine if we all liked the same spots at the same time? That would be horrible. Since this is my second posting in two days, maybe I'm missing Bali even more than I thought. Judiper.
