Some guys love the chance to talk and have the whole experience. Our regular driver, who's a lovely guy, is absolutely mortified. Poor b*gger! I guess we must be a bit much!
We took one guy out to lunch in the food hall of one of the big places in Denpasar (I forget where, but it was opposite the $1 shop). Our three meals cost about the grand total of 13,000rps, and it was fantastic. The driver was rapt, the food was excellent as always, and I got to try Bakso - yummy. Afterwards we went into the food section, and bought 3 ice-creams which cost far more than the whole meal. The driver kept saying, 'just wait until I tell my kids'. He made our day, I certainly think that he enjoyed himself.
