I am English born and have lived in Australia for over 42 years. My family is very racially mixed, but basically Caucasian. My lady friend has been in Australia from Japan about 13 years. We went to Bali together last August. It was Emiko's first time there and she absolutely loved it.
Emiko cooks Japanese food for a living, but like me and most Australians, she likes a wide variety of food and certainly enjoyed the food in Bali. And just like the rest of us, she loved the Balinese people for their happy nature, friendliness, tolerance, generosity, informality, resilience, sense of humour, we can just go on and on, can't we?
You also commented on the weather in Bali. I love hot weather, that's why I chose to come from Yorkshire to the Perth area. 35C to 40C suits me fine. I even like warm humid nights. My skin is naturally olive and has never burnt. Emiko also has unusually dark skin for someone from Northern Japan and does not burn in the sun, very useful when you live in Australia. But unlike us "white" people, she's not particularly keen to get any darker. A bit like the Balinese girls in that respect!
