We have done extensive research over the last week and have decided on the Garden View Cottages. After previously staying at the Barong and the Dynasty as repeat customers, we found that when booking this year, our 3 kids are older and it costs HEAPS more. GV looks like such good value. We found an agent who could book one or two families (2 families of 5 going together), for 14 nights, no xfers, breakfast included in a Family Room for $4050. It was an absolute bargain. It was the airfares that were the killer, but to me this is sensational value. With facilities like 24 pool and pool bar, restuarant, clean rooms, friendly staff, nightly entertainment (which in bali could be anything! But isnt that the fun of it?!?), you won't be left wanting for anything.
As with anything, you get what you pay for. If you are expecting Dynasty type service/facilities, you had best stay there. If you are prepared to compromise a little for the sake of saving a bit of money (we have saved the equivalent of our spending money), then it looks like a good choice. I can't wait.
This will be our 4th time back to Bali, and our kids 2nd. They are near on wetting themselves with excitement now they know we are going back there! AND they aren't alone! lol

Hibiscus, we found doing a "google" search and putting "garden view cottages" in inverted commas just as it looks there, the best way to source information on these resorts. just do the same for GG and compare what you find. Definately search these archives for recent posts (we concentrated on 2004 or more recent). But today we book!! We will be there 25Aug - 08 Sep. Good luck in your search and have a great holiday.
