I admire you travelling all that way for only 2 weeks. I've often thought that even if I WON a trip to London (from Perth) for a week, I wouldn't go because of the distance. But then again, Europe maybe.
Fair enough re the shellfish, but as most of us won't be going your way, due to price and distance, we'll suffer them. Have to admit it was the spices that they were cooked in that did it for me. Unfortunately have heard my little find has closed down since the bombing.
My brother-in-law reckons Tanah Lot is full of sea snakes. Different side of the island but same sea. So you probably did see one.
Know what you mean about Singapore after Bali - too much of a modern city to have retained any Malaysian or Chinese atmosphere. Probably would have enjoyed it more if you went there first.
