as wenful said, I think it is the fact that it's a tower and doesn't have the Bali "feel". I know personally I don't want to walk down corridors and have to get a lift before I go anywhere. My friends have stayed in the wing rooms several times. They like that they can walk off their verandah onto the grass with the pool nearby (the small one).
As mentioned, if you like it, it doesn't matter what others think. As you know I sometimes stay in $11 a night accom. Others wouldn't dream of doing that. Everyone wants different things. I would rather stay in more expensive accom but can't. BUT have to say because I have saved that money I'm off to Dubai, Turkey and Greece in 3 weeks (yeehah). I just wish I could get accom there for under $100 a night. Almost impossible (except in Turkey). And I bet their not the standard that you would get in Bali for that money. That's why I'll always come back to Bali (well one of the 100's of reasons).
