I am from Perth also and when we went we had used FF points and had booked direct with the hotel, but a friend of ours came over a bit later and went to Jetset to book in also and they said we can't get you in there and he said well my friends are there now and somehow they did it but I know what you mean, no one seems to be able to book in there. It is a great hotel, great staff and location. We had the poolside deluxe bungalows which were lovely. The gardens are gorgeous and the pool are is usually quiet. As they are not in the travel brochures etc. I think it is hard to get into, but I know our friend did eventually, through Jetset, so hope this helps.
Breakfasts are great there too and you walk through the back of the hotel and you are in Poppies Lane 2
