I highly recommend seeing a podiatrist who will charge you around $45 (of which, if you have health insurance, you should be able to claim back around half) and will take off all dry skin and callus and buff your tootsies until they are soft as a baby's bum. No girly stuff either - they actually use a scalpel to cut away the skin (no this doesn't hurt, the skin is dead) and then they have a nifty machine that buffs and "sandpapers" of the rough bits. I go to my podiatrist two or three times a year and if you go before Bali you could still get a pedicure whilst in Bali and they will generally just buff a bit and massage which is relaxing, though if they get our the "potato peeler" ask them not to use it because as has been previously said they're not trained to use blades on your feet as are podiatrists at home. They also seem to re-use the blades so that's pretty scary too
