my husband and I just got back from bali 3 weeks ago and we stayed in a garden deluxe chalet for 10 nights and I think we paid about $140 each for the upgrade and that included use of the club lounge.while we were there we met a couple staying in a deluxe room and they asked for upgrade and were told it would cost $95 per night, so it is a lot cheaper to go through an agent. the room we had was downstairs and was beautiful, but only difference that I could tell was that ours had an open shower and small courtyard instead of balcony. we loved using the garden lounge open from 11am to 11pm with free coffee, tea, biscuits etc all day. afternoon tea from 3pm to 5pm with lovely cakes etc. and happy hour from 5pm to 7pm with free cocktails, beer etc and great nibbles etc. we used to come back there after shopping and it was so cool (it's airconditioned) and we met a lot of really nice people from all over the world at happy hour, then we would venture out for dinner. You also have free use of the internet there and this was great for keeping in touch with home, cheaper than using mobile. They are still renovating the rooms and I think most of the garden deluxe chalets are finished but we would be happy to stay in the deluxe room. The staff are great there, we made many friends there and can't wait to go back in July and say hello. if you have any other questions please email me.
