If you have severe/proper 'Bali Belly' then it's unlikely you can let it ride or clog it up/slow the bowel down permanently.

Change in bowel movements, feeling unwell, can pass in 24 hrs & cloggers such as Immodium will let you get around/slow the bowel down (Mild Travellers Diarrhoea)& then all will be ok.

If it does not pass in that time & continues with cramps, Immodium etc is not working then antibiotics are needed to kill the bacteria.
Depending on an individuals symptoms you may have progressed from Mild Travellers Diarrhoea to/have Severe Travellers Diarrhoea, Bacterial Dysentery, Amoebic Dysentery or Giardia(according to the booklet we had)

Luckily on the last trip we had a Travellers Medication Kit with a booklet describing each in detail & various medications for each level.
The booklet was very specific about symptoms and which medications to take if need be.
