I went with Bali International Rafting on Telaga Waja river and it was great. No stairs as such to get to the river but a lot to get to the restaurant and a few more from the restauarant to the bus.
We were staying in Kuta and got picked up around 8 and got back around 4 / 4:40 (It took ages to get back - Peak hour!)
The actual rafting finishes about 1 then you shower & have buffet lunch. The lunch was fried rice, steamed rice, satays, cap cay, sweet n sour & a couple of other standard dishes.
You buy photos & video from the restaurant so take some money if you think you would like to buy some. Water is free with lunch but you have to pay for coke & bintang.
