My thoughts on hotels listed below & a question..
If you are going to split between 2 hotels then perhaps have them in 2 different areas eg Legian then Tuban. No point choosing the Padma & Rama Garden as they are so close?
Ramayana Poolside Cottages -- not on beach, more popular with families. ok location. Moderate price.
Kuta Seaveiw Cottages-- across the road from the beach. Gets ok reviews here on BTF. Probably more suited to younger ages than some of the others.May be what you are after for the first week....
Kartika Plaza---Big hotel. More expensive. On the beach but not really close to 'the action'. Probably more suited to the second week.
Good pool to veg & relax around.
Bali Garden Hotel---On the beach. Pool ok. In my opinion, more suited to families & older couples rather than younger people.
Padma Hotel--On the beach. Good location. Good pool.Large property. More expensive.
Suit second week of lazing around & being pampered.
Rama Gardens---Close to the beach. Small property & pool. Good location.Easy enough to get to nightlife etc. More suitable for first week
Melasti Beach Resort---Across from/on the beach. Gets good reviews. Family orientated. 2 pools. Not one I'd suggest for my 20 year old but depends on the person.
Kumala Pantai--- Across from/on the beach. Good pool.Nice grounds. Closer to Seminyak nightlife.Maybe the second week as a more moderately priced option (if it's not booked out)
Other options first week:
Legian Express ---budget. Clean. Smallish pool. Large rooms.Right amongst nightlife, shopping & restaurants in Jln Legian
Camplung Mas---good location not far from nightlife, close to shopping & restaurants. Pool ok.Has a younger clientele too.
Second week:
Legian Beach Hotel---Across from/on the beach. 2 pools. Nice grounds. Great location
Some pics info etc below on all the hotels if you want(under their different areas)
