I grew up being a severe asthmatic hospitalised regularly & passing out on a few occasions so my parents bought a nebuliser for me. I was told I'd 'grow out of it'. But in my twenties I was worse...
Could not walk to our local milk bar without my ventolin or I'd have an asthma attack!
About 5 years ago, nI was encouraged to seek help from an asthma educator...
I went on to have numerous tests over about a 3-6 month period.
I have since been on a preventer which initailly I took 4 puffs in morning & 4 at night, but never short of breathe & have not used Ventolin at all since being on preventer although I always carry one!
I went through a few different preventers as for me the crushed up tablet form made me cough & induced an attack, I now use a small purple puffer & only need 2 puffs in the morning & no other medication.
I have found that I get short of breathe & lack of energy if I miss my preventer puffs on 2 consecutive morninhs &now keep it next to my tooth brush, in Bali I always feel better anyways, but this has really given me my life back! Plus it was all FREE!!
It made a huge difference to me.
I had taken my nebuliser on trips to Bali prior to getting sorted out & basically it'd use too much power & we'd end up with a black out!!
