Not sure when youre planning on going but would definately suggest the driver i use Made Mangku who is very reliable and trustworthy.Most of my friends that have used him recently have just rebooked for later this year. Please have a look at his website www.geocities.com/balidriver_mademangku for more info his prices are reasonable and hell take you wherever you want to go.
a couple of places i thought looked nice to stay at but you need to book ahead is at tegalsari in Ubud in either the wooden room or Duplex which have great views . another place we have just booked to try is wwwbalibeachhouse.com which is a three bedroom house right on the beach at Amed. You can have Nengah cook for you there as he used to be a chef.
