Weight-Volume Equivalents (for water)

(1.00 kg) 1,000 grams = 1 litre (1.00 L)
(0.50 kg) 500 grams = 500 millilitres (0.50 L)
(0.10 kg) 100 grams = 100 millilitres (0.10 L)
(0.01 kg) 10 grams = 10 millilitres (0.01 L)
(0.001 kg) 1 grams = 1 millilitre (0.001 L)

Weighing the water is done by some to see if the scales are accurate or not.
If a 1 litre bottle of water weighs in at 1.5kgs then the scales are not accurate.
Therefore you will pay more for the seafood at that restaurant (as the price goes by weight of the fish/prawns/etc chosen
