Hi jay jay, We flew from Bali back to Auckland. Limit was 20 kg each and we flew back without any extra charges with 74 kg!!! Dont know if we were just lucky that day or not, but it would not put me off buying up large when we head over in 3 weeks. We brought home a huge lamp wrapped in a piece of cardboard, we figured even at worst if they never let us take it or it got broken then we would lose a grand total of $15. Try your luck as it is well worth it.
