The things I like about the Puri Raja are the location for one and the fact that it's on the beach. I liked the breakfast here but if you don't there are plenty of surrounding places where you can pick up a breakfast more to your liking without breaking the bank. My husband and I found the staff very helpful and friendly. Our room was well serviced and the pools were kept clean. The hot water was my bug bear, in fact the worst I've come across in Bali - ran hot one second and cold the next (I have an aversion to cold water) - hard to rinse out shampoo and conditioner from long hair. The TV chanel selection was also poor compared to other places we've stayed in Bali. These are the services I'd like to see improved, and maybe they have been since our stay in June 2003, I don't know. We did not have any problem with our bed, pillows or air conditioning (the important stuff). When it comes to value for money - we found this place hard to beat, and if anyone knows of some other place that can - please let us know. We found the food really good value, inexpensive and of a good standard. You catch that gorgeous sea breeze sitting at the open air restaurant ............ ahhhhhh how I long to be there right now - can't wait to be back at the Puri Raja come the end of June. All things considered, it's a great place to stay IMHO!!! Hope this helps you make your decision so that you feel comfortable with it.
