There has been quite a bit of discussion re cash v ATM's. We use ATm's - carefully as they hold the card til after the cash - different from here (Ak,NZ)AND if you do a search here for ATM, there is a story about how to avoid the bank fees on ATm transactions - quite easy in fact, and yes, this is what we did last year and will do again. We have Westpac cards, but the setup should work with other cards but you may have to persevere to get your bank and credit card company (they are different businesses) to tell you. ps - people in Bali are not there to rip you off, but if you leave yourself wide open to being fleeced, some of them will take advantage of the situation - and who could blame them, so just be careful and keep your wits about you and you will enjoy every minute of it. Give respect and you will get it back 10 fold.
