After a not too good trip in Nov 04, Mum won two $99 tickets so we decided to do a quick trip over for the long weekend.

We stayed at the Camplung Mas in legian - Just off Melasti street. We haven't stayed here before and we really loved it. For those who have stayed at the Garden View, the feel of the hotel is very much like that. We were in room 37 with a little courtyard. This is a basic hotel and anyone expecting 5 star luxury will be disappointed but if you have simple needs where rooms are concerned like us, you can't ask for a better budget hotel. The rooms were clean, aircon great, water pressure good, fridge near new. The complex consists of mostly cottage style rooms - we stayed in a twin and they are very roomy. The hotel also has hotel-style rooms on a second level with a balcony. The staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was like a warm bath - not too refreshing but still lovely. We had read negative posts on the forum about the towells being late to our room so we bought along our own from home. This was not the case as the towells were there after the room was cleaned. They may come later if the hotel is very full but not this time. The towels upon arrival were a little old looking but they were clean.

The breakfast that was included in the price of the hotel was basic but substantial and was delivered very quickly. I don't think the hotel was very full as there were not many people congregating around the bar/pool at night and it was very quiet within the complex.

We went to Chill Spa in Seminyak for a lovely reflexology massage. Highly recommend this - total relaxation. Went on the Bounty Dinner Cruise - was only about 20 people and they still went out!! Seemed a bit of a waste for them but we enjoyed it.

The streets are very very quiet - Legian street at 9pm is like a ghost town. Hopefully will busy up soon.

Did lots of shopping at the Matahari - great prices and specials as usual. Had a look at the Discovery Mall - much more expensive but still some specials to be had.

Our friend Mustang who we have known for 7 years now drove us around and it was lovely to catch up with him and his family. Anyone needing a wonderful, reliable driver, email me and I can forward his mobile number for sms'ing.

All in all, a wonderful quick trip in a wonderful hotel. Even the rain didn't make it any less terrific.
