my daughter has never been a screamer, crier etc on a flight ever & she has travelled back & forth from Melb to Bali since she was 9 wks old! I pack plenty of books etc for her to read, colour in & play with, she never has gone to the toilet or left her chair, she sits quietly &/or sleeps! I get irritated by kids racng up & down the walk ways but I try to ignore it. Our Daughter loves flying & is not allowed to kick seats, or fiddle around with the books in the back of the chair in front etc... I have travelled with friends whose kids do laps of the plane whilst I look & my friends are asleep, those people I would prefer not on my flight...
