Annie - I cant comment on ubud village at all as we didnt stay there, but we did stay at Komaneka a few weeks ago and its really nice - the rooms are great - on one side they overlook a paddy field and are really calm and peaceful - there is a lovely pool, the staff are really kind and helpful. It is right in the middle of Monkey Forest Road and there are plenty of restaurants etc within walking distance - ditto Ubud Palace etc It is linked to the Neka Gallery just out of town - that is a great place to visit and if you stay there you get a free ticket and I think they have a free shuttle bus there
