If all pics (day or night) were too light then it sounds like either a develop/printing or over exposure on camera. Sometimes your pics -daytime landscape or portrait - will look light and milky due to ultra violet rays being profilic in the tropics. This can be overcome by purchasing a screw on uv filter lens over your main lens on your camera. Allow extra low setting on your aperture or slower setting on shutter to compensate for light. You may be able to scan your Bali photos and edit them on a computer to adjust tones, brightness, hue etc. If they have stuffed up the negatives you might be up the creek without a paddle. I had the same problem with some of my photos and was able to get them up to being reasonable. Go to a camera shop (Gerry Gibbs for example) and ask them if in doubt.
