Patra Bali was closed for 2 years and underwent a massive facelift and now it looks magnificent. It is the nearest Hotel to the Airport and there are no restaurants near the front entrance however, when you exit at the back right on the promenade you can walk past Bali Hai Resort and in the very near vicinity of Bali Hai there 5 good eating places.
1) Pantai Restaurant, right on the beach 200 metes past bali hai in the direction of Kuta. Excellent position, cheap food, great staff and very cold beer./
2) Ma Joly, a further 50 metres past pantai. Excellent food, ambience but more expensive than the run of the mill. It's only 8 months old but is highly recommended for that "special" occasion.
3) Green Garden Reataurant, 2 storeys, great sunset view, excellent food, cheap prices. Can also arrange a good massage there for RP99,000. Location right outside Bali hai entrance in JL Wana Segara.
4) S A Cafe, similar to Pantai good cheap food, lovely staff. can chnnge Aussie at good rates and they are thoroughly trustworthy. happy hour from 4.30pm daily. Location JL Wana Segara 80 metres from Green Garden.
5) Lotus Tavern, 80 metres further up Jl Wana Segara from S A Cafe. Again good food mid range in price, wide ranging menu.
Santika Hotel is just up from Bali Hai and is very close to Ma Joly & Pantai and a short walk to the other 3 eateries.
Jayakarta, is in the hub of Legian, on the beach and in reach of many, many restaurants.
If you want you want a relatively quiet place, then Patra or Santika are the places for you however if you like the hurley burley then Jayakarta might suit better, either way there are plenty of eateries not far away from them all.
On the other hand you might want to look at www.balihai-resort.com and check them out also. We have had 11 holidays there and it is a really good 4 star, reasonably priced hotel.
If you want more info re the Tuban area then feel free to email me.
